Wow the busy season of May and June came crashing in on us, literally.  Saturday, May 17, 2003 a driver lost control of her van and it smashed through the outside wall of Pizza and Pipes, near our cash registers.  Luckily Aaron had just finished taking an order and was walking away from the area.  He dashed toward the back and was unharmed.  Our oven worker escaped into the bar and the customer who just ordered, dove into the safety of the dining room.  The driver was unhurt, so miraculously, everyone escaped injury. 

The van smashed into a stainless steel table which crunched into our salad bar and rammed our stainless cutting table into a vent pipe inside a wall between the kitchen and bar.  Photos reveal that the vent pipe probably stopped the van's progress.  We had our computers replaced within 10 days and reconstruction should be finished within one month.  We used the opportunity to rebuild, to install a new deli case which displays our salads and pastas. 

On a less dramatic note, our customers continue to support us as sales remain up over last year.  Many schools and sports groups are taking advantage of our World's Greatest Fundraiser, to raise record funds for their cause.  Thanks to everyone who has visited this past year.
